The Risk
Milestone’s Approach
Data loss
All migrations from Project Online to Project Subscription Edition will have a manual component to them, which increases the risk of data loss or corruption. This raises the bar for how that process must be handled. At Milestone, we build in multiple layers of precautions, including scripting, rigorous testing, and QA, to ensure your data remains fully intact. Our process is tested and proven.
Compatibility issues with integrations
While integrations will likely need review and/or modifications, our team at Milestone handles this for you. And the good news is integrations are easier to implement in Project Server than they were in Project Online and many organizations may find that their integration code will become easier to maintain as a result of the changes.
OData deprecation in Project Server Subscription Edition
Because Project OData Service is deprecated in Project Server Subscription Edition, all reports and any integrations that currently rely on OData will need to be modified. To do so, Milestone will convert OData queries to T-SQL queries against the Project Server reporting database. Our team is well versed in this process and we’ll handle updates to all required reports and integrations.
