Our History

Milestone Consulting Group, Inc. was formed in 2002. Milestone’s founders believe that an enterprise system approach to the deployment of Microsoft's Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solution, taking into account technical, integration, education, support, and organizational change management is a requirement for companies interested in successfully deploying this growing enterprise software solution.

Milestone provides best in breed solutions based on the Microsoft PPM platform, whether on-premise Project Server, or cloud-based Project Online. Milestone focuses on developing a complete PPM solution using Microsoft technologies through a carefully crafted team of experts focused on implementing management best practices, defining solutions architectures, configuring, customizing, educating, and integrating PPM with your key applications. Milestone’s solutions help companies reduce project lifecycle times, reduce project costs, and facilitate the re-use of best practices. With over 250 successful PPM implementations to date, Milestone has and continues to be a PPM industry leader spanning the globe with its unique delivery approach and worldwide education curriculum.

Our Staff

All of Milestone’s staff is focused on particular aspects of delivery. Milestone’s consultants average over 19 years of experience in the project management industry. Over 80% of Milestone’s staff hold certifications in their areas of expertise. Certifications possessed by our staff include: MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), Project Management Professional (PMP) ®, and CPM (Certificate in Project Management).

Milestone regularly interacts with Microsoft’s Project development team at Microsoft, is actively involved in PMI, founded the Twin Cities chapter of Microsoft Project Users Group (MPUG), and pioneered the Microsoft Project Lunch and Learn series.

And as active members in the PPM community our experience is shared with, and enriched by interaction with Microsoft, Project Management Institute (PMI) and other professional organizations. And based on our long-term, ongoing relationships with clients, advisers, and colleagues (whether a CIO of a Midwest specialty engineering firm, a government space agency procurement director managing contract officers, or a director of laboratory services for a world-renowned medical system), each interaction has enriched our understanding of the ways organization’s function, strive, and grow and helps us assist our clients more effectively.
